Fresh from his incredible drive in his inaugural 24 Heures Du Mans with Murphy Prototypes (LMP2 class) New Zealand born driver Brendon Hartley will be in action at this year’s Festival of Speed at Goodwood on 30th June and 1st July.
Brendon has worked on the simulator programme for MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS for more than a year and works closely with the team to improve the performance of their Formula 1 car. He is excited to announce the he will be running up the iconic 1.16-mile Goodwood hillclimb in a Mercedes W02 and will also drive in a historic Lotus 92.
“It will be a fantastic experience to not only drive up the hill at Goodwood for the first time, but also to have my first taste of the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS F1 car!” Brendon commented. “I have worked with the team closely developing their car, but driving the real thing will be a treat. I cannot wait!”
Brendon, a former Red Bull racing and Toro Rosso f1 reserve driver in 2009 will be one of the drivers and riders who will appear on the walkway leading into the exclusive BlackRock Drivers’ Club throughout the event, which gives Festival goers and fans the rare opportunity to see their heroes and vehicles up close and personal.
