Jun26

After winning the feature race at the Valencia round of the GP3 Series Mitch Evans has extended his lead in the championship with a solid sixth place in the final race of the weekend. He now leads Aaro Vainio by four points with a large gap of 32 points back to Daniel Abt in third place.

Swiss driver Patric Niederhauser raced to the top of the podium at the Valencia Street Circuit for Race 2. The Jenzer Motorsport driver started from reverse pole to celebrate a commanding victory, to finish ahead of Lotus GP’s Daniel Abt and Marussia Manor Racing’s Tio Ellinas who was later issued with a one second time penalty following contact with Kevin Ceccon on the final lap. This dropped him back to fifth.

Round 4 of the GP3 Series takes place at Silverstone on 6-8 July 2012.
